THE LONG JOURNEY FROM MILAN TO PARIS

THE FOURTH EDITION OF THE 1000KM

A.V.E.L.A. (Amatori Veneti, Emiliani, Lombardi Attachi) is organizing a new edition of "extreme trekking": the IVth edition of the 1000Km called "The long journey from Milan to Paris".

 G.I.A. (Gruppo Italiano Attachi) has been quick in offering its precious help by renewing an agreement of collaboration which has already been tried and tested on many occasions.

This year the ambitious aim is to drive from Milan to Paris: a truly courageous undertaking!

The departure will be on Saturday 28th August from the centre of Milan, whilst the arrival is foreseen on 19th September at the Hippodrome of Paris Vincennes, where a large crowd will be waiting. The arrival will, in fact, be take place as part of the “Journée du Cheval et du Patrimoine Europée” for which  the Société d’Encouragement du Cheval Francais (SECF) opened the gates of the Hippodrome to traditional horse-drawn vehicles last year,  with a presence of 23,000 people.

The journey has been studied in every minute detail and includes crossing the Alps through the Moncenisio pass, which will be reached by a route planned in Italy with stops in Turin and in Susa. In France the route crosses the Departments of the Rhone Alpes, of Bourgogne and of Ile de France. Paris will be reached passing through Fontainbleu and Villecresnes.

The logistical organization (stops, length of sections of the journey, solutions for overnight stays for the teams and stabling for the horses) is fundamental in these long journeys and for this reason we already have in place collaboration agreements with Alain Ducharme, president of EQUID-TRACT, and with the Société d’Encouragement du Cheval Francais.

Accompanying the long journey from Milan to Paris will be the Patrons of the most important Italian and French Equestrian Federations, the Local Authorities and Public Institutions.
